Approach
Slow at the start, then written down
Engagements follow the same four stages. The first costs nothing and exists mainly to establish whether the work would be useful.
01
About 45 minutes
An initial conversation
No documents, no forms, no data collection. We talk about the company, the household and what has prompted the question now. Most of this call is spent establishing whether the work would actually be useful to you.
02
Several weeks
Establishing the picture
We assemble the personal-side facts: household spending, what is owned inside and outside the company, obligations, and the decisions currently open. Only information genuinely needed for the work is requested.
03
Two or three sessions
Written analysis and discussion
The picture is written down in plain language, together with the open questions and the trade-offs each one carries. We work through it in conversation rather than presenting conclusions.
04
Ongoing, by agreement
Coordination and follow-through
Decisions that require your accountant, lawyer or another specialist are prepared for and carried into those meetings. Agreed decisions are recorded and revisited on a stated schedule.

Why it is unhurried
Nothing is recommended in a first meeting. The purpose is to understand the ownership, the household and the timing, so that the written work that follows is about your circumstances rather than a general template.
How the practice is run
- Advice, not products
- Stillpoint does not sell financial products, does not manage investments, does not hold client assets and does not receive commissions or referral compensation from any third party.
- Written, not presented
- The output of the work is a written record of your circumstances, decisions and reasoning, not a slide deck. It is intended to be usable by you and by your other advisers.
- Bounded scope
- We say plainly what falls outside the practice. Tax, legal, accounting, insurance and investment implementation are performed by professionals you engage directly.
- A small number of relationships
- The practice is deliberately limited in size. Where the work would not be genuinely useful, we say so at the first conversation rather than after an engagement begins.
On fees
Stillpoint is paid directly by the client and by no one else. Because the scope of an engagement depends on the circumstances, including the complexity of the ownership, the number of households involved and whether a transition is in view. Fees are quoted in writing after the initial conversation, before any work begins. No figures are published here because a published figure would be a guess at your situation.
There is no charge for the initial conversation and no obligation arising from it. Important information.
